Illustrious Sir Jack Melton

Moolah Potentate 2025

Jack Melton was raised in the Overland/ 

St. Ann area; attended Ritenour high school, Southeast Missouri and Southern

Illinois Universities. He served two years 

in the Army, stationed in Japan. He served a four year apprenticeship as a carpenter, and worked both commercial and residential. 

In 1981 he went to work for McDonnell Douglas and then Boeing aircraft, retiring in 2014 after 33 years.


He was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel in 2012. He is a member of Noble Lodge 684, Scottish Rite, Moolah Ambassador, Arca 21 Order of Quetzcoatl, Hillbilly Clan #140,Royal Order of Jesters Court 81, Swing Dance unit, Moolah Clowns, Gateway 500, Motor Patrol, Ceremonial cast, Tiger Clowns, Tiger Shrine, Three Rivers, and Daniel Boone 

and Ozark Shrine Clubs.


He helped start the Moolah Swing Dance Unit, in 2011 and was President until 2016. As “Jitterbug”, the Moolah Clown, he has won awards at three CSSA conventions.

He is was associate member, 

of the Board of Governors of St. Louis Shriners Hospital in 2020, 2021 and 2024.


Jack has been happily married to his wife Gail, for 55 years. They reside in St. Charles. 

They have one daughter

Heather and one granddaughter Skylar.
