UNITS CLUBS COMMITTEES (UCC)

UCC Web Sites

Each Unit, Club and Committee (UCC) has it OWN Website within Moolah.org that can be accessed from anywhere in the world and updated hourly, daily, weekly, monthly or whenever you chose.
 

Requirements

You must be able to access the INTERNET
You must be AUTHORIZED by the UCC
You must have USER Rights for the UCC
You must be able to READ and TYPE on a keyboard.
 

PURPOSE

Identify, Explain and Define the steps necessary to keep your Web Site current and up-to-date.  Identify capabilities and limitations.  This is to be frequently updated a more and more functionality is added.

USER CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

This is a picture of the USER content management console once the USER is logged in to the Content Management System (CMS).

 
 

STEP 1

Camels' Tale Articles

Create a new article

Clicking your mouse pointer on "- Create a new article - "  will bring up this window:  
 
 
 
 
 

STEP 1b

ARTICLE DETAIL Box
Status:    Active or Inactive Radio Buttons
The default is Active -
If you are writing your Article and you don't want it displayed to Everyone then check the Inactive Radio Button.  When your ready and finished you can the check the ACTIVE Radio Button which IMMEDIATELY displays on the Moolah Web.
Unit/Club:  This should have your UCC already in it.  In the event you are Authorized for more than one UCC you can use the down arrow to select the UCC you want to create the article for.
Text:  number box for paragraphs
So you want 3 paragraphs after your heading - use the down arrow and select 3 - You don't have to!  Select at least ONE (1)
 
 

STEP 1c

ADDRESS/MAP Box - option

NOTICE

Map:  yes or no Radio Button
check yes to display a link called MAP in your article
Default is no.
Map Text:
You can change the LINK Text - default is to display the word MAP when the yes Radio Button is checked.
 
 
 
 

 
 

STEP 1e

WEB LINK Box - option

This can be used to reference or link to other websites or interesting information. 
Web Link:  Do Not type the http:// use www.intek.net
Link Text:  Affordable Computer Expert Services (ACES)
 
 

STEP 2

Open a Browser window (Internet Explorer or whatever Browser you use) to the Internet and go to www.moolah.org.  Login to your "Members Only" account and start your first article.

Login to your account

 

Click the Active Radio Button

Fill in Your Headline - whatever you want

use the Down Arrow and select 2 paragraphs

Paragraph 1 of 2

A Blank Paragraph box opens.  Type in Your first paragraph with everything you want in it.

Hit the Continue button in the lower right hand corner

Did you see the spelling error in the first Paragraph?

See the words [edit] and [delete] under the SECOND paragraph in the ARTICLE DETAIL at the right.  The [edit] and [delete] at the top are from the First paragraph after we scrolled down.

STEP 3g

Move your mouse pointer to the [edit] for the First paragraph and press your left mouse button.

Hit the Continue button

 Read it again checking for any errors and then scroll down to the Second paragraph. Move your mouse pointer to the [edit] at the bottom above the Add paragraphs and press your left mouse button.

Why should I edit the second paragraph?

We will take out - remove the "YitF" and the "JT" by putting the mouse pointer in the text box and deleting the text.  Read through and make sure you have everything right and HIT CONTINUE - The next step we will add two more paragraphs.

Going to my Second Window that I opened a long time ago I click on "Gateway 500" and scroll down to see my changes and review my Camels' Tale article

 
I just noticed that Gateway doesn't have any events scheduled so how about we schedule an event for the UNIT?
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

STEP 4a

Fill in the details

EVENT DETAIL BOX
I filled in the Title Box
In the Notes/Text Box - I went and copied (CUT) the text out of Ron's email message and then Pasted it into the box as is.
CONTACTS BOX
I used the down arrow to select Ron Reynolds to display his contact information.
UNIT/CLUB/COMMITTEE
Used the down arrow to select Gateway 500 event calendar.
SPECIAL NOTE :
Display on Moolah Calendar is DEFAULT or "No"

Do NOT check the "Yes" Radio Button unless your event has been approved by the Pote and is listed on his calendar.

Every change made is logged in the Server and the Website to evaluate who made the change, what was changed and the time the change was made.  This is a protection system for Your UCC and Moolah.  Please keep you Password SECURE and Be Responsible

There are several Nobles that have all the requirements listed and experience to provide the updates and changes as needed for several UCC's.  (Don Baur, Dan Triska, Doug Bachman)
 
 

The UCC User can:

Create, Edit, Delete, Archive their Camels' Tales Articles;
(this includes the ability to add & delete pictures)
Add, Edit, Delete their own UCC Events Calendar;
(also when and how to publish your event on the Moolah EVENTS Calendar)
Create, Edit, Delete items in "What's New";

STEP 1a

Picture:  Yes or No Radio Buttons
The default is No -  If you want to add a picture then check the Yes Radio Button
Headline:  Type in the Headline you want to use:  example "November Camels' Tale"  This text is Displayed on your page in BOLD TEXT.  **
 

This feature allows you to add directions to a location using Yahoo Maps.  For example:  You want to tell people that your next scheduled meeting will be held at Your House and provide a MAP so they know how to get there.
 
 

STEP 1d

DATES Box - option

Entered:  This will always be the current date - you can't change it.
Archive: Use the down arrow box to select the date you want your article to be archived OFF - The default here is always a month later than the current date.
 
 

 

TIP:  Open a second Browser Window and bring up www.moolah.org.  Go to Moolah Shriners - "Camels' Tales" and you will see the list of the Units Clubs and Committees. 

 

 

STEP 2a

Click on Continue button

First time out there is no need to do anything with the other three boxes.  Just go hit the Continue button at the bottom.
 
Remember Abort takes you back to the previous page.

Hit the Continue button in the lower right hand corner

Paragraph 2 of 2

NOTICE:  Look at Paragraph 2 and see that I tried to make the YitF and JT to be on separate lines - It Doesn't Work that way.  To do that each line needs to be IN a paragraph so I should have started with 4 paragraphs instead of 2.  No problem - We will go back in several more steps and Edit the article adding two more paragraphs and the Web page will look great.

 

STEP 2e

Remember the Second Window You Opended?

Go open the SECOND window to Moolah Shriners - Camels' Tales and click on your UCC - In this case we will go to "Gateway 500"

Select article to Edit - click on the name of the article

Use the Scroll Bar and Scroll down

I put my mouse on the "knw" in between the "k" and the "n" and typed "o" - Then I read through it agin to make sure there were no other errors in the first paragraph. 
 

 

STEP 3k

Add paragraphs

Move your mouse pointer to the down arrow and press the left mouse button - move the pointer to the number of paragraphs you want to ADD - then Left click your mouse button on that number.  In this example 2. 
Another Text box opens for your NEXT paragraph. 
In this example I type in "YitF"
Then I Hit the Continue button

The next paragraph box opens and I type
Jim Tracy - Proud Past President
Then I Hit the Continue button

 

Final check
Hit Continue in the lower right hand corner when finished.  You can keep going as long as you want.  Back and Forth.

 
 
 

STEP 4

Add a UCC event to the Website

Click on the Add a new event located in the Events box

In this example Ron Reynolds sent an email out to the entire Unit asking for their input on Ceremonial Day.  We will add it to the Gateway 500 Event Calendar.
 
DATES BOX
I selected the 29th of October.  NOTICE the [C] next to Begin and End.  These are used to clear the dates entered.
ADDRESS BOX
I entered the address, city, state and zip
I checked the MAP link to display on the Event Calendar just in case someone forgets where Moolah is located

NOTICE

The CONTINUE button is replace by the UPDATE NOW button - when you click the button your event goes immediately to the UCC Website.  Be responsible
